Acrophobia offers several ways to find and join games.

Quick Play

The fastest way to start playing. Tap Quick Play and you’ll be automatically matched with other players looking for a game.
  • Games fill up to 7 players (or the host’s max player setting)
  • If 3 or more players are waiting after 30 seconds, the game starts automatically
  • Empty slots are filled with AI bots if “Fill with Bots” is enabled

Create Room (Private)

Host your own game with custom settings. When you create a room, you get a 4-6 character room code that you can share with friends.
  • Customize all game settings — rounds, timers, letter count, categories, and more
  • Choose whether to make the room public (visible in the Game Lobby) or private (invite-only)
  • Set a custom room name so friends can identify your game
  • Choose which AI bots to include

Join Room

Have a room code from a friend? Tap Join Room and enter the code to jump straight into their game.

Game Lobby

Browse open games in the Game Lobby. Two tabs let you find the right game:
TabWhat it shows
NewPublic rooms that are waiting for players and haven’t started yet
ActiveGames currently in progress that allow mid-game joining
You can also browse online players to see who’s available to play.

Offline Mode

No internet? No problem. Offline Mode lets you play solo against local AI bots with no connection required. It’s a great way to practice your acronym skills or play on the go.
Offline games don’t count toward your leaderboard score or stats since they aren’t connected to the server.

Spectator Mode

Want to watch a game without playing? Join as a spectator to observe the action. You’ll see all submissions and votes in real-time without participating.

Mid-Game Joining

If a game is already in progress and Allow Mid-Game Join is enabled, you can join late. You’ll enter as a spectator for the current round and start playing from the next round onward.
